Blackmailing her

Isla

Gede and that detective just left. That guy, Yuto, seems way too invested in this damn case, especially now that Claire is dead too. Letting out a breath, I went inside my room and locking the door, I went and laid down on the bed.

"Not as good as you thought you were"

I was startled as I looked towards the voice. Iris was on the rocking chair with that blank expression of hers.

"Gosh. You scared me"

"Did I?" She walked towards the bed "Pardon, your highness. I disrupted your extremely important thoughts"

I rolled my eyes. She wasn't usually like this.

"What do you want?"

"I guess you didn't hear me. Let me repeat. Not as good as you thought"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Playing coy, are we?"

"I'm not playing coy, Iris. Get to the point."

"The point is, you're not as good at hiding as you thought you were"

I stiffened. Shit. Did she find out? But no, that's impossible, she couldn't have...could she?

"You ain't gonna pretend like you're innocent?"

"I...I can't understand, what are you saying"

"Ah...so back to the pretending"

"Get to the point, damn."

"You killed claire."

Not even a question? Just a simple...you killed claire?

"I guess I acheived the priveledge of making you speechless"

"No, no damn it. I didn't kill her. How can you be so sure anyway?"

She moved closer and whispered "I have evidence"

"You can't have evidence to something that isn't true. I didn't kill anyone-"

"Relax. I'm not gonna oust you out"

"You're not?"

"Busted!"

I bit my tongue. Damn. I just admitted it.

"I seriously won't"

"Then why are you telling me all of this"

"Well...I need a favour from you and in return I won't even let myself remember about this"

A favour? What could she want from me anyway? And isn't it risky. But do I have a choice anyway? If I don't do this favour, she'll expose me.

"Tick tock"

"Okay, okay. Fine. What do you want?"

"Take the fall for Ethan's muder."

"What? Why- I- you-"

"What why who, forget all those questions. Just do this or you're done for."

"No. Absolutely not"

"Alright then, I'll expose you"

I moved foward and grabbed her hand to tackle her but she turned me around instead and the way she looked at me, made my blood run cold.

I gulped.

"Okay...fine"

She released me in an instant and got up

"But it wouldn't add up, I was down when the whole ordeal took place"

"In between, you went away for like 30 minutes. I'm not questioning you on that. At that time, you went up, killed Ethan, hid the evidence and came back down as if nothing happened"

How does this bitch know everything.

"Am I clear?"

"Y-yes"

I took a deep breath in

"But why? Why do you want me to take the blame?"

"Let's just say that the real culprit getting caught, is not in my best interests. That's all you need to know"

I sighed, knowing that any argument with her was futile. I just nodded, accepting my fate.

"And the reason?"

"Anything. Say whatever the hell you want to"

Iris

I was in my room, Laying on the bed as I thought about all that has happened. As I remembered things, that day flashed through my mind.

5 years back

I sat on the chair, facing the mirror. All ready in my bridal gown as the makeup artist did some touchup. I'd asked him to marry me, just after a year of em passing. Today is January 21. The same day ember passed away just a year before. This marriage is only happening for one purpose, and that is revenge. I'll make sure that this man suffers. I'll make sure that his work life is shit. That's almost taken care of anyway. I'll make sure that such things will happen that he will regret his entire damn existence. I'll be the perfect wife. So perfect. So trusting. I'll be the farthest from anything negative to him. He doesn't know what's coming for him.

"You're all ready Ms. Adams" I smiled at the lady and got up as I put my veil, covering my face.

Sophia smiled at me as she held my hand. "I'm so happy for you, Iris"

Me too, Soph. Me too. Too damn happy to destroy him.

I smiled and squeezed her hand as she held mine and guided me out.

Since my dad wasn't alive, not that I'd ever let him do this anyway, Soph's dad was going to walk me down the aisle.

Her father is the closest thing I have to q dad. He really treats me as his own daughter.

I smiled at her father as he held my arm and walked me down the aisle, towards Ethan. I smiled at Ethan sweetly, too sweet for my liking, but it had to be done for what I was planning.

I now stood in front of him as the priest was also right there.

"Gracious God, thank you for this day of love. We are gathered here under your mighty hand, which has guided our couple on their journey to marriage. Thank you for every guest that was picked by their hearts to witness their union. May this ceremony be a small reflection of the many blessings on the way for years to come, amen."

The priest turned to us "You may now read your vows"

"Iris, I promise to cherish you always, to honor and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us."

"Ethan, I promise to cherish you always, to honor and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us."

Indeed, your death alone will part us.

"Heavenly Father, thank you for this beautiful couple. Grant them a life of peace, abundance and joy. Give them wisdom and guidance. Strengthen them in those moments when life gets tough. May they always remember that your presence is with them. May their love continue to flourish and grow. Protect these two and lead them according to your will. I bless them now in Jesus' name, amen."

This beautiful couple will indeed be remembered. They'll remember how the wife was perfect and the husband was a disaster, only after he stops breathing. His name will forever be tainted, and I'll gladly be the only reason and cause for it.
