Adam
I entered the house to see Gede with a group of people. My gaze wandered idly before stopping right at one person.
Her widened honey brown eyes stared right back at my darker ones. Her light brown wavy hair touched her waist and her pale red lips were pressed together. She looked surprised to see me. She must be having thoughts about me lying to her because of the name.
I'm seeing her after more than a week. Lord, it felt good. I thought I'd have to wait more. She looks disturbed. I mean, I get it. A murder has occured in the house she was in, that's a whole lot. But I needed to have a talk with her. I needed to explain myself to her. To clear all her confusions.
I need you to believe me, ambrosia. Ambrosia, I took a breath in, it meant honey. It was the colour of her eyes. But the nickname I gave her wasn't just about her eyes. I feel like she's so much like honey. Honey is a vicious, sweet fluid produced from nectar. She's so much like that too. Atleast, that's what I feel she is. She might appear sweet at first but I can just feel the hidden viciousness in her. I'll bring that out another day. For now I have to explain myself to her and then obviously concentrate on this case, which I'm here for of course.
"Good morning, I'm Mr Yuto, and I'm the agent who'll work on this case. I'll start working on it as soon as I get all the information from Mr Gede over here in detail and I hope all of you will understand and will cooperate."
Almost all of them nodded except for her. She just stared at me. God, I want to clear this misunderstanding as quickly as possible. I jerked off my personal thoughts and scanned the room looking at the people while having a file about them in my hands. I first saw a man with chestnut brown, wavy hair, hazel round eyes and round dark pink lips. His name's Liam. Beside him stood his wife Sophia with long dirty blonde straight hair which went upto her waist, deep blue doe eyes and round, light pink lips.
Next, my eyes darted to a girl with dark brown curly hair, emerald green slender eyes and light reddish lips. She was Isla. Then I saw the wife of the murdered man, Iris. Iris Adams. Her long black wavy hair went a little further down from her shoulder, her brown almond eyes so dark that they appeared black, and wide, natural pink lips. She had a look I couldn't quite read. I couldn't tell if she was in shock or if she was just unreadable in general.
I looked over at the only guy left. But why is he standing so close to Claire? Did she just smile? At something he said? His burgundy curly hair wasn't that great of a sight. And that grey colour of his eyes, it's the palest colour I've ever seen. His reddish pink lips curled up in a smile. I never thought that I'd dislike a smile that much. There was absolutely nothing special about this guy. He was like the most boring guy I've ever seen.
I scoffed and then turned my gaze towards her again. The need to explain myself is just growing by the minute. I'd talk to her. I have to.
I looked over at Gede "Give me the details so that I can start the investigation" He nodded and announced "Well I'm leaving now and Mr Yuto is officially the one on the case now." All of them nodded and he left.
I can't hold it much longer. I don't know the details anyway, so I might as well talk to her first. "Ms Davis, can I have a word with you?" she nodded, waiting for me to speak. "It's confidential," I said professionally. No, it wasn't but I didn't even know if she had talked about me to them. Besides, I don't feel the need to explain myself to people I don't even know.
She gestured to me to follow her to a room and I followed her inside. "Cl-"
"What's it that you wanted to talk about Adam? oh sorry, no" she shook her head "Mr Yuto"
She looked kind of angry but I could see the tiny bit of hurt hidden in the anger too. I felt guilty, even though I didn't really do anything wrong.
"Please just hear me out"
She let out a breath "Fine, but this better be good enough" i nodded and continued "So the cafe waiter was just a cover for my actual work. Naturally I couldn't tell them my real job cause it's confidential."
"You lied about your name"
"I didn't"
"But-"
"Adam is my real name"
She just looked at me blankly and none of us said anything for a while.
"Then why was he calling you that"
"That's my code name"
"Oh"
"Yeah, disclosing my real name would be a threat to my safety. So even to all of you I can only disclose my code name. Besides, we don't know who the murderer is, so that's another thing."
"You think I could be one too?"
"You could"
She looked at me
"But I know you aren't"
"How are you so sure?"
"I trust you and know you enough" She smiled
"So, you missed me?" My lips curled into a smirk. She smiled. "Maybe" My smirk turned into a smile. "I did too," I added. " "I'm happy to see you despite the uh circumstances" I then added "sorry you had to meet me this way though " "It's not your fault anyway, and I'm happy to meet you too. At least it feels a little less worse now." I smile.
"We're good right?"
She smiled
"Yeah, we're good"
"Good to hear that cause I was worried"
She chuckled, "nothing to worry about"
I smiled
"I know that now"
