Iris
It was 20th January today, we're gonna finally leave tomorrow. I do need to work overtime today though. As I was thinking about this my alarm woke me up, I stopped the alarm and went to the washroom. I brushed my teeth and did my morning routine.
I came out of the washroom and saw Ethan still sleeping. I checked the time on the clock hung on the wall in the room, it was 5 minutes to 8, he'll get late if he doesn't wake up now.
I tried waking him up but he kept saying "5 more minutes" "Just a minute more" and what not. It's always difficult to wake him up, he's a heavy sleeper.
As I thought about a way to wake him up, an idea popped into my head which made me grin. I went and took a bottle from the fridge, came into the room with it and splashed it all over his face.
He was startled and sat right up, I started chuckling looking at his reaction.
At first he was confused and looked a bit angry but when he realised I was laughing he rolled his eyes and then looked irritated.
"It's 8 already, wake up or you'll be late" I said as I glanced at the clock. He realised what I just said after a minute and rushed to the washroom. Took him long enough. I laughed as I saw him rushing towards the washroom.
I then went to the kitchen and checked the ingredients to see what I could make. I thought that we could just have toast and coffee today. I then buttered 2 breads on both sides and placed them both inside the toaster. I did this again, now I had four breads in total, so two for each of us. I then made us coffee, I made him strong black coffee and myself milk coffee.
I don't know how he has that coffee, I just took a sip once and spat it all out. I served the bread on plates for us and kept it on the table along with jam. I then poured us coffee in 2 mugs and kept it on the table as well.
I took a seat, put jam on my bread and started eating it. When I was almost done with the second bread, Ethan came out in his bathrobe. I gestured for him to take a seat and eat breakfast.
He smiled and sat down on the seat in front of me. He looked at me and frowned, he then said "eating without me?"
I then chuckled and replied "you should have woken up earlier if you wanna eat with me" he then acted as if he was angry "cut the act, i can differentiate when you're actually angry from when you're just pretending" He then sighed "caught me" and we both chuckled.
I then went to the kitchen, kept my plate in the sink and then headed towards the bedroom to change.
I changed into a formal shirt and pants and wore a black coat. I tied my hair in a tight bun which was more efficient for work. I then took my laptop bag and went into the hall. I waved him bye and told him "meet you in the night, I guess I will work overtime today" He nodded and waved me bye. I was working overtime today since I had a leave from tomorrow.
I then went towards my car and sat on the driver's seat and started driving it. I drove for a while and stopped in front of a house. I then dialed Mark's number on my phone "I'm outside" I informed him. He replied "be right out". Mark was my work colleague and most of the time we went to work together since our houses weren't that far away from each other.
Thank god for that. Since we kept constantly talking about projects or just about general stuff, I wasn't left alone with my thoughts. Something I really needed.
A moment later I saw him walking towards the car. He smiled at me and I returned the gesture. He then sat on the passenger seat next to the driver's seat and I started the car. We discussed about work as I drove to our office.
We reached in about five minutes since the office was rather close to his house. I then drove my car into the parking area and parked it in my usual spot. We then got out of the car and I locked it, we walked towards the office building discussing details about a project we were working on.

I drank a sip of my coffee as I heard the sound of a notification on my phone. I took my phone to check a message, it was from Adam.
Adam: Good Morning 7:15 am
Me: Good Morning 7:16 am
Adam: I was thinking... 7:16 am
Me: yeah? go on 7:16 am
Adam: would you like to go out for coffee 7:17 am
Me: I would definitely like to but I'm going for a short trip tomorrow :( 7:18 am
Adam: oh, till when will you be back? 7:18 am
Me: I'll be back by 11th January 7:19 am
Adam: then let's meet on 12th, since you'd need to rest too 7:19 am
Me: haha yeah 7:20 am
Me: but... 7:20 am
Adam: but? 7:20 am
Me:If you want we can meet in my lunch break today 7:21 am
Adam: definitely :)) 7:21 am
Me: It's at 1:30 7:21 am
Me: We can meet at sweet cafe, it's near my office 7:21 am
Adam: then we'll meet there 7:22 am
Me: We'll meet there then :) 7:22 am
Adam: yeah :)) 7:22 am
Adam: It's a date 7:23 am
Me: It is, huh? 7:23 am
I found myself smiling at his message
Adam: Yep, it is. You okay with that? 7:24
Me: More than just okay :) 7:24
Adam: Alright then, meet you for lunch :)) 7:25
I finished my coffee and went inside my room to change. I changed into my work clothes and left for my office.
At 1:30 pm
I finally made my way out of my office as it was lunchtime. Thank god for that. A sudden grumble from my stomach just confirmed my hunger as I chuckled and walked out of the premises. I went to 'sweet cafe' which was near my office and as I entered the cafe I saw Adam already seated in one of the 2 seater tables. I walked to him and took a seat right in front of him.
"Hi!" He said and I smiled waving my hand
"Hey! Hope you weren't waiting too long"
"Not at all. I was rather early"
"You just couldn't wait, could you?" I teased
"No, not at all. In fact it was hard waiting till your lunch break" he said as he leaned forward, his face on his palm as his elbow was on the table.
My cheeks flushed a light pink and I averted my gaze, but soon laughed it off, or tried to.
I thought he would tease me on it but thankfully didn't.
The waitress then came over and left after taking our order.
He then gave me a bouquet of pink and yellow roses "for you" He said smiling, I smiled back and took the bouquet and replied "thank you"
"I don't know how I didn't see this there" I chuckled. I guess I was just too lost in him.
We spent the time talking and eating food after it arrived.
It was now 1:50 so I said "I think I need to leave now. Work, you know?" I said with a soft chuckle. He gave me an understanding nod with a smile. We split the bill and we decided to meet again after my short trip.
As I went back to my office, my phone beeped. A notification popping up.
Unknown: Don't ignore me darling 2:45 pm
Unknown: Or would you rather me talk to your new guy privately? 2:46 pm
I felt a bead of sweat forming on the back of my neck. He was back, and for the worse.
